Overview of the role


Now is an exciting time to be involved in Scouting, as we develop our Skills for Life strategy, to prepare better futures and deliver skills for life to young people who want to access scouting.  The Programme Lead volunteer role is an important appointment within FRIENDS OF CHERNOBYL'S CHILDREN WOKING (BSO), responsible for providing inspirational and effective leadership of our Programme team.


As Area Programme Team Lead you will take the lead in making sure we support the delivery of a quality programme to our adult volunteers who deliver effective programmes to our youth members across BSO, You will lead a team of programme supporters, Nights Away and Activity permit assessors and in support, our 14-24 programme and Top Awards team.  The BSO team is broad and includes our Area Lead Volunteer, Area Youth Lead, Area Team Leads, District Lead Volunteers and our Area Trustee Board.
 
You will be joining a team of talented, focussed volunteers who are all passionate about bringing brilliant scouting to every young person who wants to take part and join the adventure.



The role of Area Programme Team Lead is demanding, and highly rewarding. We are looking for people who can lead and inspire teams by being a great coach, critical friend and motivator. This is a senior manager role within The Scouts and offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young people across BSO.

Great representation from BSO at the British Embassy in Madrid as the Royal British Legion launched their Poppy Day appeal 2024. Well done to Catherine Fenton and the 1st Madrid Scout Group for achieving recognition for the amount of their donation from last year. Amazing community engagement with John Pearce and the team from 1st Majadahonda Scout Group along with Southern Europe DLV Kenny Lee.
